Long Dusty Road

Today was a travel day to our next stop – an AirBnB with three bedrooms, two baths, full kitchen, laundry facilities, and a hot tub!  The night before Anthony and Tom had carefully washed both Khan and Polo, but it rained and the driveway and dirt road out of our guest house oasis left both pretty badly coated with fresh mud.

Post cleaning and after the muddy road.

The trip to Longmont, Colorado – the location for the MATE championship – involved long stretches of rolling hills and wide open spaces, but not the most interesting driving after the first 20 miles.

We left around 9AM intending to arrive in time for the opening Judges soiree, which despite some traffic north of Denver on the interstate we did with time to spare.  The AirBnB was pretty much as described, except the hot tub was an inexpensive, 110V version rather than the more powerful units Scott prefers.  The Titan / Titanic thing was on everyone’s mind as we met new judges and renewed acquaintances with old judges. Our AirBnB was very close to the brewpub where the soiree was held, so we got an early bedtime and were ready for the competition the next day.
