Sunday morning Scott planned to leave his room at 7:00AM – at the end of the window for the shuttle, figuring that the always-eager NARCOA folks would get there early and have to wait, but knowing they would not leave him behind. A good plan, but… he was almost ready at 7AM but had a few more things to put away. At exactly 7AM he heard a knock on the door from Tom – “The shuttle is here and they are ready – I can stall them for a few seconds.” As Scott rushed out the door he packed everything but his toiletries case with one of his many drugs…

Breakfast was great – catered eggs and such – in the Tupper Lake train station across from our Speeders. Departure was a bit later than planned, and once more on the trip back we were temporarily sidelined en route by trains and railbikes. We reached Remsen around 4:30PM, and we managed to get the Speeder on the trailer and on the road by about 5:15PM. We were bound for Scott’s brother’s new house in Lake Placid, which would have been a short ride from Tupper Lake, but was a long drive from Remsen. We arrived at 8PM to a great hamburger meal that Ray and Terry held up for us, then bedtime without toiletries for Scott. Scott pecked out a request for Karen his assistant to ask the Tupper Lake Motel folks to send the toiletries on his tablet, then a nice quiet and restful sleep in Ray’s guest rooms for Scott and Tom.
