Toad Hookup Checklist


Install the drop receiver on the RV.

Install the brake activation receiver on the drop receiver.

Install the towbar, chains and lights cable on the brake activation receiver.

Make sure the tow bars are unlocked.

Position the Jeep centered and square to the RV so the tow bars can be connected (not too close, not too far).

Shift the Jeep transmission to Park.

Apply the parking brake on the Jeep.

Remove the twist lock hitch connectors from the tow bar ends.

Install the twist lock hitch connectors on the Jeep.

Connect the tow bars to the hitch points, adjusting the length as necessary.

Secure the clevis pins.

Connect the chains to Jeep.

Connect the lights to the Jeep.

Connect the brake cable to the Jeep.

Shift the Jeep transmission to Neutral.

Hold the brake on the Jeep.

Release the parking brake on the Jeep.

Pull the RV forward slowly and gradually release the Jeep brakes as needed to lock the towbars.

Stop the RV.

Confirm the tow bars are fully extended and locked.

Check the lights on the Jeep.

Double check all connections and that the Jeep transfer case is in Neutral and the transmission is in Park.
